You don’t have to have a green thumb to make these brightly colored garden soaps.
The garden soap mold is absolutely ADORABLE and so perfect for transitioning your soaps from summer to fall. I made mine in bright colors and scented them with a fresh, summery fragrance- but you could easily make these more suitable for fall by using a spicy fragrance and darker colors.
Using a melt & pour soap base and a few color blocks, these little bars are a breeze to make and super easy to customize. So grab your supplies and let’s make some soap!
You’ll Need:
- 1-2 lbs.Organic White MP Soap Base, cubed
- Garden Seeds Soap Mold
- Fragrance Oilor亚博升级版
- Melt & Pour Soap Color Blocks
Instructions:
Divide the cubed soap base into 4 even parts (or 8 even parts if you’re using 2 lbs. of soap base, which will fill the tray twice). Cut a small chunk of a soap color block and place with the cubed soap base in a microwave-safe measuring cup. The more of the color block you use, the darker the color will be. I used about 1/3 of a block for each of my colors.
Pop the soap in the microwave and heat using short intervals until the cubes have dissolved into a smooth liquid. Stir well then blend the color evenly throughout the mixture.
Stir in the fragrance oil or essential oil. Start with a small amount (a few drops or so) and increase until you’ve reached your desired scent. I used about ½ teaspoon for each of my four mixtures.
Carefully pour the mixture into the mold.
Repeat the steps for each of the four soaps (if you’re making them different colors) and allow the finished soaps to cool and harden completely.
Once cooled and hardened (a few hours), flip the mold over.
Don’t they look great?!
Gently press around the border and directly in the center of each bar. The soaps should pop right out of the mold! If you’re having trouble, place the tray in the freezer for a few minutes and try again. This step will help release the bars from the mold easily.
I love the way these turned out! The soap color blocks make it so simple to achieve great color in MP bases and adding them to a recipe doesn’t even require extra work!
